After 18 months of testing the road legal version of our Rite Track VDJ Landcruiser track correction is here. Everybody has heard about the mis-matched track between front and rear on the V8 Landcruiser Utes, Wagons and Troop Carrier vehicles.
From factory the difference is 95mm on the ones we measured. Realizing there is a number of options on the market already including replacement housings, spindle changes, bolt on wheel spacers and different offset rims, we set out to design a product that would be legal, cost effective and serviceable.
Enter the rite-track replacement rear hub, we increase each side wheel track mechanically without the use of a spacer by 25mm. This equals 50mm axle increase in the rear which means the rear tyre cut is reduced from 47.5mm to 22.5mm. Most new car manufactures run a narrower rear track as this also affects steering characteristics of the vehicle. On the factory hub the mismatch equals 18% of the tyre cutting its own track, with our kit is is reduced to 8%.
The hub is a CNC machined 1045GR steel, zinc plated replacement hub, retains factory wheel bearings, studs and axle shafts so if you ever have an issue you can get parts from anywhere in the country. We supply the hub prefitted with new wheel studs, axle studs and axle dowel pins also included in the kit is high quality Japanese wheel bearing kits for the rear. Our hub is drilled with extra dowel pin holes if you wish to have your axles machined to accept more.
